Who we are
mk1studios is a web design and development studio operated by David Boland, based at 82 Cardigan Road, Bridlington, East Yorkshire, YO15 3JT. You can contact us at david@mk1studios.co.uk or by phone on 07545 642342.
What data we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send us — along with any optional fields you choose to fill in (such as project type or budget range). If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect anonymised usage data about how you interact with our website via Google Analytics 4.
How we use your data
Contact form data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not use it for marketing purposes or share it with third parties, except as described below. Analytics data is used to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. We do not use analytics data to identify individuals.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
For contact form submissions, our legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) — responding to a business enquiry you initiated. For analytics cookies, our legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — we only load Google Analytics if you explicitly accept when prompted.
Cookies
This site does not use any cookies by default. If you accept analytics tracking, Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_XXXXXXXXXX) to track anonymous session data. These cookies are set by Google and are subject to Google's privacy policy. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your cookies and declining when prompted on your next visit.
Data retention
Email enquiries are retained for up to two years to support ongoing client relationships. Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics (the minimum configurable period). You may request deletion of your data at any time.
Third parties
We use the following third-party services: Resend (to send and deliver contact form emails — see resend.com/privacy), Google Analytics (anonymised website analytics — see policies.google.com/privacy), and IONOS (website hosting — see ionos.co.uk/terms-gtc). We do not sell or share your data with any other parties.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; object to processing; and request restriction of processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at david@mk1studios.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the bottom of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
